This Saturday at Argosy Casino Sioux City, they're having two events go down that don't seem to be that related, but who can blame them for some unique cross promotion?

Argosy Casino Sioux City is sponsoring a charity chili-dog eating contest this Saturday during the "Free $5,000 Play the Big Game Poker Tournament."

The chili-dog eating contest will be held on the first level of the casino during intermission at the poker tournament. Patrons are encouraged to donate $5 to the Food Bank of Siouxland and participate in the chili-dog eating contest.

Wind Creek Casino is putting the finishing touches on their latest cooking studio.While most casinos are trying to lure customers in with cheaper hands and higher payouts, Wind Creek in Alabama is trying out something different by offering other forms of entertainment. Instead of sitting down for an amazing meal, how about you learn to cook it yourself?

"Our Cooking Studio gives our guests a place where they can be master chefs, while cooking up fun with friends and family," PCI Gaming Authority President Jay Dorris said. "At Wind Creek, we believe that food and friendship are central to our lifestyle, and we are proud that the Cooking Studio blends the two in a unique setting that sets our resort apart from others in the region."

The 735-square foot studio is equipped with six cooking stations for small classes that offer one-on-one attention, and there's a 1,420-square foot auditorium to be used for demonstrations. These demonstrations will be lead by none other then Top Chef Runner-Up, Carla Hall. Best known for her down to earth manner and a firm belief that cooking is from the heart, Carla was easily one of the favorite contestants from last season.
