In 2008 Eddie Ryan and Kelly Nilsson formed the band SIMPLE REMEDY! Eddie and Kelly share a love of music from all genres and realize that being versatile is the key to entertaining a wide range of audiences. Kelly is an amazing singer with a powerful voice. "She is truly a one of a kind singer - I don't know many people that are as versatile and powerful as she is, I'm glad we got this opportunity to work together" says Eddie. Kelly comes from a truly amazing family. Her father, John was a bass player for Stevie Starlight in the 70's/80's, her sister Kristina was the lead singer for Shades of Grey and her brother Johnny is in the Chicago band Johnny and Coax. Both Eddie and Kelly are great singers, but their true power is seen when they sing together. Their harmony vocals are amazing. They are currently working on a full length album of original music and are playing in clubs all over Chicago and the surrounding areas.

Italo Mario Parise is suing the MotorCity Casino in Michigan for damages after losing $673,854 over the course of a decade at the casino. His entire case is based around an obscure state statute. Parise says that casino officials did nothing to stop him from gambling despite his 1996 filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
Parise believes that casino officials knew, or should have known, about his financial problems and not allowed him to gamble. But as far as I can tell, Parise hadn't done anything to make himself banned from casinos - such as applying to be on the Michigan Disassociated Persons list.
Attorney Deborah Brouwer, representing MotorCity,
said, "[losing this case] would be the death knell for the Detroit casinos, none of
which would be able to remain in business if forced to return gambling
losses to disgruntled gamblers."

Well, this is just odd. Yesterday in Atlantic City a man took first place, in a supposedly women's only tournament. 65-year-old Abraham Kortotki took home first prize, winning just under $21,000. Abraham claims he enrolled after being eliminated from a different tournament.
The tournament was held at the Borgata and Joe Lupo, the senior vice-president said in a statement, "Borgata offers specialty tournaments, including the Ladies event. In the spirit of this event, it was our hope that only women would
have participated, as has happened in the past... However, given
legal requirements, we must allow anyone who is over the age of 21 the
opportunity to participate."
This whole situation came as a blow to Nicole Rowe diagnosed with breast cancer, who was hoping to walk away with the top prize in the Ladies No-Limit
Texas Hold 'em tournament since she has a mastectomy later this month and wanted the funds to help with living expenses.
Abraham claims he signed up online after seeing other men had done the same, and he also claims to be donating his winnings to three different charities - including one dedicated to breast cancer.

Sioux Falls police are investigating a weekend casino robbery.
It happened just after noon Sunday at the Martini's Casino on South Louise Avenue. According to police, a man entered the casino with white nylons over his face and a blonde wig on top of his head. He showed the cashier a small handgun and demanded the money from the till.
The cashier was only able to give police a limited description, but said the man did have dark hair under the wig.

The Florida Governor's Office issued a press release yesterday detailing the plan for finally letting the Seminole Tribe offer blackjack in their casinos.
